The Stories Behind the Tweets, hosted by William Parra, seeks to open a window to the world, to get to the bottom of stories larger than 140 characters. In today's program: 1) The history and current day activities of Cuban cigar readers, employees hired to read books and newspapers aloud to cigar workers as their roll the world-famous Havanas. Workers themselves decide which books are to be read ; 2) In downtown Sao Paulo the area around Augusta Street is losing its traditional identity in the face of an onslaught of high-end real estate development. Activists energy is centered on occupying and defending the beautiful and large local park; 3) Life for youth in Nairobi, Kenya is incredibly difficult, fueled by poverty, massive uncontrolled migration to already overextended cities, and unemployment that often reaches 80%. Marginalized youth try to escape the horrors of daily life through using drugs, in the form of marijuana, crack, and heavier and more dangerous substances. Some activists are seeking alternatives for such youth. teleSUR
