What does she think-
This woman with the flowing hair
Locked behind the looking glass.
Is this her image for all to see?
And does she really care?
No pastel chalk can erase her gray-
Nor misty sentiment iron out her wrinkles.
What artist dare to define her,
With charcoal stick that draws her curves-
Outlined on crowded history of canvas.
What poet challenges themselves to write
Verse about her inner thoughts, that are
So closely guarded.
What does she think-
This woman with a comforting touch
Uncomfortably dressed in camouflage.
Buried deep within her lies strong -
Restless - desire...
She knows her place - her mirrored image
Her eyes betray her feelings.
What does she think while staring back...
Her thoughts written with ink-smudged fingers
Arranged in stacks of crumbled paper.
