A heart grows no older
With the passage of time,
It seeks with a passion
What it sought all the time.
But it tempers with caution
A façade of stone,
To conceal the longing
And the time on its own.
Although it deceives
Quite bravely time spent as one,
The disappointment of unfulfilled dreams
Are with one too well known.
Risks never taken
The pain to avoid,
But with too much pain to bare
Never venturing for fear of failure,
Too afraid to find one to care.
Years grow longer lived all alone,
A heart grows colder
As it is passed by time
And denies with a passion,
What it sought all the time.
