quietly, coldness creeps
as the frost grows close
blanketing all with white
warm breath leaves a trail
whisperings of goodbyes
left abandoned shivering,
freezing alone in the night.
bringing a piercing sting
cold has crept bitterly in
turning this heart to ice
hallowed, becoming numb
frostbitten, it slowly cracks
frigid life begins dripping
crimson bled darkness
painfully breaks through
regretfully staining icy frost,
chilling the desolate soul.
released glistening tears
rains over the broken heart
lost and laying forgotten
in darkness forever frozen.
