I HEARD MY SADNESS WAITING FOR ME

I heard my sadness waiting for me
In words I had never said before-
Life has its own melodies
But I am old, my breath is short-

I listen and I know the truth
The Time Behind is far too great
I will live out the time ahead
In Love and Kindness not in hate

The years remaining
I vow shall be
Years of Love and Poetry.
