empty silence surrounds,
hushing all that's around
darkness engulfs the light
creating shadows of shame,
devouring past mistakes.
unforgiving sharp glass
painfully embeds itself
sinking beneath the skin
constant punishing slices
tearing open past scars.
crimson rain achingly falls
swallowing broken pieces.
blood soaked and thirsty
shadows come out to play.
tormenting the weak heart,
held prisoner of the night,
tortured by ugly memories
haunting this wounded soul.
muffled cries faintly heard
falling prey, she was weak
to blood thirsty shadows,
shame overtaking, cutting,
she drowns in crimson rain.
