demons guard the gates of hell
as the moon before the sun

so for that route i'm done

flying skyward ever higher
to reach the pearly gates
desperate to escape the fire
trying to escape my fate

my feet ring out on the rock
as out of hell i crawl
demon wings like shadows hang
over the burning wall

until i reach heaven hell no more
angles faces circling
around the holy door

begging old st. peter to please let me in
for i want my soul in heaven
not in hell again
