Laurie hill - * Heard her whisper

Moonlight casting witch-like shadows,
silver lances pierced the gloom,
wind blown branches gently rapping,
at the window of my room,
shutters swinging, floorboards creaking,
seemed the house was mourning too,
felt the shadows dark were speaking
heard the shadows call for you.
Lying here in whispered silence,
hand upon her pillow cold,
closed my eyes and sensed her fragrance,
stroked her hair of autumn gold,
eyes clench shut, tears were seeping,
streaming random down my face,
memories touched, my soul was weeping
for her love and soft embrace.
Felt a warmth of breath upon me,
felt her fingers on my cheek,
heard her whisper gently to me,
held my breath, i dared not speak.
