Beleaguered past rued in rushes
Hopped to stops at some gushes
Sparkled swank vague tomorrows
Fertile buds withered to harrows

Torn up bits, blown in vain
Engraved as fate, time and again
Suffer the pain, a gradual fade
yield to downers nature's made

Lives be doomed to a futile end?
What the buzz on great men then?
No lofty cheers for the run we ran
Fade, concede; the best we can?

Make do present in hope to find
Fleeting bits to a picture bind
Clutching flotsam left behind
Sore is the body, numb the mind

Soaring values, driving dreams
Weathered now, fuzzy at seams
Searching pieces wrenched away
Most our lives; don't have a say

Head long leapt in the roiling fray
Sunken toiled, at the pew to pray
Love's flair Care and truth.
Soiled trains and choir's myth

Loved and told, utopian tales.
Suffered miseries, driven nails.
Sun now shines! O' make your hay
stack up yum an heap your tray

Here an there, chased livid blue.
Clank of swords and purring mew.
Life shrieks, "Murders at the Rue"
Grip and sip the "Ravenesque" stew
