Walk in
City’s familiar
And unfamiliar
Bylanes;
Incognito…
Can leave
The mask home
Who has time to glance?
It’s a city
Without a heart,
With only emptiness;
Spaces, though cramped
one jostles,
To wander
In anonymity,
Tears flowing
Down your cheeks.
It’s a city
Without a spirit, yes-
Cold and hard
Like steel concrete benches
in the foggy park
on a winter eve.
