STORY: U.S. President Barack Obama tells CBS Face the Nation that there is "still a big gap" on Iran nuclear talks, and that "we may not be able to get there."

He also made it clear that there is no link or trade off between Iran and the U.S. on the nuclear issue in terms of the broader U.S. policy. "We do have a shared enemy in ISIL, but I have been very clear publicly, and privately, we are not connecting in any way the nuclear negotiations from the issue of ISIL," he said.

Senior envoys of Iran, the United States and European Union met in Oman on Sunday to tackle stumbling blocks in efforts to defuse the standoff over Tehran's nuclear program.

Reiterating Iran's official line, Ali Akbar Velayati, a top aide to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was quoted by Iranian media as saying the Islamic Republic would not abandon its nuclear "rights" but was committed to the negotiations under Khamenei's leadership.
