The mannequins
have got bored

hanging around
being beautiful.

Perfection has
...its price.

They have decided to
mingle amongst

their all
too human

counterparts.

They haven't quite
got the hang of it

as yet
looking as if they had

that very minute stepped o ut of

a Tamara de Limpecka painting
in a frenzy of sang-froid

& chiaroscuro
worthy of a Caravaggio

that this night
has made.

They all carry copies
of a Max Ernst text

which they pretend
to read on tubes
in libraries at bustops

DIE NACKTHEIT DER FRAU IS WEISER
ALS DIE LEHRE DES PHILOSPHEN

so that they can be

known to one
another

& practice being
...human.
