I was a soldier in the first world war
You would not believe the things that I saw
I had to see my friend get shot to death
He did say to me within his last breath
I hate you boy, you put me in this mess
The thing that is killing me is the stress
If it wasnt for you, signing me up
I could be at home, drinking from a cup
This place is so terrible, I hate it
We are living in a pig - sty like pit
I am sorry my friend, I have been shot
I bid you farewell now, forget me not
This poem was written dedicated to the brave soldiers of WW1, who's brave efforts made Britain what it is today.
