You came to me,
your smile embracing me,
your arms opening to hold me

and I, a year older since yesterday,
was lifted, raised from the day's grey,

catching the rainbow
that freely flowed from you,

bathing in the light
of your energy,

so glad of your bright presence,
on my birthday.
