Growing a sweet friendship cool and hanging out
Never thinking it could be more not what it’s about
We would laugh, chat, and carry on until the break of day
Then it was time to leave much to our dismay

I would think about her all day long, always on my mind
Just a friend I would say how I could have been so blind.
Then one day with out thinking, I tripped and fell in love
My heart on wings I sent to her by a mourning dove

In response, she gave to me a love so sweet a pure
Yet we were both frightened how we could be so sure
So we’ll just carry on friends forever more
And see if once again love walks through the door
