sitting on the lush green grass
the child at my heels
we painted off-cuts
pine statements
blocks in squares
liberated from the saw
and the man watched from the window
wishing it were him
who could be so free and unassuming
yet
liberty cannot be handed on a plate
time gives us liberation
when at last
we recognise her joy
within
our own sanctuary
and remembering
that
liberty
has no fence
but gathers harmony
within
our own consciousness
