ANDREW BLAKEMORE - The Daisies And Buttercups

The daisies and buttercups now grow side by side,
For there in the meadow they spread far and wide,
While oaks in the distance are casting their shade,
And sheep rest beneath them till sun starts to fade.

The blackbird is singing above in the tree,
His song fills the morning as sweet as can be,
The hawthorn's in blossom so lovely the sight,
And shines through the country while all dressed in white.

The blue skies bring happiness above it's so clear,
Awaiting the swallows and swifts to appear,
My prayers have been answered I look on this day,
And see God is with me in nature's display.

The daisies and buttercups now herald the spring,
A fanfare of colour such joy they now bring,
For there in the meadow like snowflakes and gold,
The flowers are glowing to end winter's cold.
