ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Tiny Flower

The tiny flower grows in shade
Its vivid colours will not fade,
Beside the fence so old and rotten
Out of sight and long forgotten.

Growing where a small seed fell
And for so long it's had to dwell,
Upon the dry and stony soil
A life of hardship and such toil.

One day it will lose the fight
When cold and winter frosts do bite,
Alas no one will seem to care
For they will never know it's there.

Hiden in the gloom it lies
Yet it will shine until it dies,
Whether life be long or short
Its time will always count for nought.

Beneath the bush with leaves so green
The tiny flower stays unseen,
Starved of light it won't grow tall
Yet it remains the best of all.
