Troy Clark - A Cage of Tears

Alone I sit in this corner,
Cowering from life like it's
a sin,
And life goes on like I
never really existed.

Why the pain that I feel now,
It has no biblical meaning,
Perhaps loneliness has finally
taken its toll.

I am now but a distant memory,
To the life and light I once had,
A shell emtpy, devoid of pitiful
emotions,
And a soft heart forgotten to many.

Alone I sit in darkness,
Beckoning to the call,
And giving up false desires
to the weak and feeble.

I am now but souless,
Deprived of spirit and
fleshless concerns,
A mockery of who I once was
is my picture now.

Alone I sit in this cage,
A cage that I've made for
myself,
With bars made of tears
and a lock made from
tattered dreams,
Who can save me?
