The corridors may be narrow or wide
Others may accompany or travel may be solo
A hopeful stride is brisk and filled with pride
Ahead are frosted windows allowing light
Yet on the other side voices are still inaudible
Anticipation compels expectations of sight
Without conscious thought the direction deviates
Swiftly taking fate into a foreign realm
Alternate routes are sought to calm and alleviate
Accumulating countless miles exhausts the weary
Does dumping disappointment lighten the load?
At the moment the thought seems great in theory
A lengthening past determines countenance
It has created a person who now moves forward
How will it affect the next performance?
Knowledge gained can be used to an advantage
Mishaps can serve as lessons not to be repeated
Making the view ahead clearer from this vantage
The future will be revealed
As one door closes and another opens…
The unforeseeable becomes real
