Do you remember
When we chased the chickens
Up the slippery green hills
Before the chickens got sick
And the hills turned brown?
Do you remember
When we folded the news
And made paper windmills
Before the news was important
And the economy went down?

Do you remember
Near that wooden bridge
Where we cast our lines
Before the bridge was broken
And the river was a dump?
Do you remember
When we set out in a barrow
To climb that big pine
Before the woodsmen came
And left us a big stump?

Do you remember
When you fell off the boat
By the lake in the rain
Before we sold the boat
And we had no more fish to savour?
Do you remember that time
You made me cry
Because of a poem you wrote?
