We give thanks to the Lord for the harvest.
We give thanks to the farmers for the crops.
We eat the plants that God grew for us.

The hay bales are golden towers.
The church is laid out with our offerings.
The yellow combine is out.

We have made the spongy white bread.
We have cut the golden corn.
We have picked the fruit.

The summer is over.
The autumn is here.
And so is the harvest!

This was written by my great niece, Kitty aged 9 years.

She is a poet in the making, with this delightful poem.
