Kelly Vinal - The Far and Gray

Minutes in the hour of need
Hours in the day of grief
Recompense for silent belief
In adequate display

It fills the void of dreams enjoyed
As ether soaked in phantoms' lore
A gust of flame then nothing more
The thrust of tides recede

How the final minutes marching
Trace the subtle lines of grace
Pouring life into this space
And so defy the angry sky

And it impends and it stalks
And it lives by ambush predation
And it takes its shadowy station
Along the banks of faith

Onward flows the swollen river
Sweeping on the desperate way
From shrouded mountains far and gray
The ocean's provenance
