The heart never lies, the heart sometimes cries,
Yet true love in a heart never ever dies.
A small little bud dying to bloom,
It would flourish if it was allowed the room.

In your eyes, behind the rose tint,
I'm still your baby, the one worth a mint.
Yet I've grown now, I'm nearly a man,
You know you have to let go now, you know you can.

The heart never lies, the heart sometimes cries,
Yet true love in a heart never ever dies.
A small little bud dying to bloom,
It would flourish if it was allowed the room.

In the world it aint gonna be easy, I'm not ever gonna say
That's it's all a bed of roses but I am already doing OK.
I crave to have the freedom to make my own mistakes,
I know the difference between true love and a one filled with fakes.

The heart never lies, the heart sometimes cries,
Yet true love in a heart never ever dies.
A small little bud dying to bloom,
It would flourish if it was allowed the room.

I know how to look after myself, survive quite alright alone,
You can release me from this hold, yet you can just pick up the phone
And I'm right there, a happy young man, a one not feeling hateful
If you'd just allow me a chance, you know I'll always be grateful.

The heart never lies, the heart sometimes cries,
Yet true love in a heart never ever dies.
A small little bud dying to bloom,
It would flourish if it was allowed the room.
