Patricia Gale - Poet's Prose

I set alone upon a starry night
Hearing the night sing unto me
Sweet sounds of the moon light
Sway me away into the midnight blue

Diamond stars shine twinkling
Coolness of the eve brushes my skin
Hearing the signs that the season may bring
The locust buzzing and the crickets sound like a violin

The field lays barren from the harvest
But the cupboard filled with summer’s feast
Looking above and knowing I have been truly blessed
Surrendering my thanks to the one above, last but not least

Breathing in a deep country breath of fresh air
My soul begins to tingle from my head to my toes
My heart is free from all care
And my mind begins a simple poet’s prose

Pen in hand the sky becomes my inspiration
The moon strokes my expectations
Stars suspend me in a heavenly fixation
I become lost in His divine creation
