I just love a thunderstorm,
especially at night,
the wind, the rain, the smell,
but most of all the lightning!

I love to sit out on the porch,
wind messing up my hair,
and watch the sky light up,
as the bolts pierce stagnate air.

I like to count the seconds,
and to be startled by the thunder,
that I knew would soon be coming,
but still, a sense of wonder.

The pets don't like the thunderstorms,
they cower, crouch and hide,
yes, it has been pointed out to me,
that they have more sense than I.
