The Leaf
A simple leaf I hold in my hand
and yet glorious wonders it does command
You started as a little seed
But now you breath life into this tree
Without you the tree withers and dies
The world would have to say good-bye
But even you do not endure
For your time here is minuscule
The tree lives on for many seasons
Your short life has it's reasons
And when the time comes for you to leave
You go in blazing colors cleaved
And if perchance a warm breeze is there
You'll leave this world with a little flare
You'll catch that heat wave in the sky
And ride to heavenly heights so high
Then in your final hours of rest
You'll land upon natures breat
And nourish the ground to continue on
The cycle of a new season's dawn
