Don't smile at me
and tell me that you're changed.
My mind is set.
It cannot be rearranged
to believe that you,
the boy who hid in man's disguise,
who hardened my heart
and wet my eyes
for so long,
did me so wrong,
has suddenly had an epiphany
and no longer wants to hurt,
but wants to love me.

Please don't tell me
you've changed.
My life finally has order.
Do not come in to rearrange
my thoughts,
my agenda,
my heart strings.
My body yearns for your touch,
but my mind knows better.
I know too much
and you're too late.

Don't tell me that
you've changed.
