Twas raining, and the slippery streets
did shimmer and glimmer in the haze,
all filthy were the street lights
and the garbage out for days.

Beware the Traffic Copawock, my son!
the tickets he writes! the laws he sites!
and shun the ruinious Metermaid,
before you're in her sights!

He took his steering wheel in hand
and speeded he right past some tree
and never saw the Man.
As he awoke right from his nap,
the Copawock, with tinted shades,
placed a ticket in his lap

One two! One two! Through and through!
He cut the ticket right in two
but he was dead shot through the head
when the Copawock was through!

'And hast thou slain my speedy boy? '
she uttered in her shock.
'He made my day when he wouldn't pay! '
so shouted the Copawock!

Twas raining, and the slippery streets
did shimmer and glimmer in the haze,
and no one else was speeding
on that filthy fateful day.
