I would I were where heather grows
in purple swathes across the hills.
A tonic for the eyes and nose
and crystal clear flow sparkling rills

In purple swathes across the hills
where Golden eagles rule the skies
and crystal clear flow sparkling rills
Where only nature’s rule applies.

Where golden eagles rule the skies,
they ride the currents of the air
where only nature’s rule applies,
My heart is yearning to be there.

They ride the currents of the air
patrol the skies in majesty.
My heart is yearning to be there,
There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.

They answer to no mans command
free as the winds on which they ride
The ancient guardians of the land.
Symbolic of my homelands pride.

I would I were where heather grows
a tonic for the eyes and nose.
