Not something I'd usually write. It began an an experiment, but I liked the result. Here it goes.
---
Ice cream is crying a stream
The bed’s fallen asleep
Roses are wilting-dead
Rust is creeping up the Iron Gate.
CHORUS-
Baby, how much longer do I wait?
(I’m bored of having you in dreams,
You know, everyone has their needs.)
{Background-
Coffee is getting cold
But I’m warm enough to hold. }
CHORUS-
Baby, how much longer do I wait?
(My skin will forget your touch
If you test my patience so much.)
Sun is forgetting to shine
Faltering is the commitment of mine.
Even wine has got a funny taste
Youth is transient, what a waste!
CHORUS-
Baby, how much longer do I wait?
(I’m bored of having you in dreams,
You know, everyone has their needs.)
{Background-
Coffee is getting cold,
But I’m warm enough to hold.}
CHORUS-
Baby, how much longer do I wait?
(My skin will forget your touch
If you test my patience so much.)
A distance from you I’ll create
Our equation it will equate.
Picture your face it’ll be frustrate, And
You’ll run right to me, and say-
'Baby, how much longer do I wait? '
Umm…maybe until the coffee is…(fades)
