Ben Paynter - and so we take the twisted path to town

We walked upon the mountains in a fog
The town below sat covered in alone
While mountain birds sat tired from their singing
We tried to find a little bit of home

But I don’t think we’ll find it here today
The clouds are thick; the earth is wrapped with frost
The patterns in the stone spell little poems
They rhyme until their meaning has been lost

And so we take the twisted path to town
In hopes that love will pass while heading down
