I'd like to know as well
What gossip a dog catches up on
When around the place it smells

It sounds very interesting, spicy
The very latest in slanderous news
Because dogs just can't wait to catch up on it
They want to hear the most recent reviews

If you let them loose from their confines
They'll rush to the nearest news stand
And sniff greedily at the tabloids
In a language we just don't understand

I would love to be Dr Doolittle
Even if it were only for a day
Because I could listen in as well
And reply with shock 'Oh I say'
