Amongst my Grandmother's possessions
were two old biscuit tins, in which she kept,
her needles and pins. In one of these tins,
there were reels of cotton. Together with lace
that was thread bare and rotten.Amongst her antiquity,
we found an old leather case. Which horded table cloths
and bed linen, trimmed with the finest of lace.
Inside her desk, we found letters by the score,
some going back as far as the war. Embroidered postcards
sent from France, that were sad to read even at a glance.
Some sent with crosses others with flowers. Those brave
old soldiers must have worked on them for hours.
Under her bed we found an old sea chest and on it was
stamped a sea faring crest, it was full of maps of nautical
days, from the coasts of the Americas, down to the
Australia Bays.
Grandmother had all sorts of things, including a pair of
Angel wings, because she was an Angel until she died.
Then God came and took her, to work by his side.
