S
Tell me Janice, would you please
How should we strive for poetry?
J
With flowing words
And always feeling
With passion flowing
And words appealing
S
So tell me then, if I can choose
Just any old subject as my muse?
Must it rhyme? Must it flow?
Must it's rhythm tick and go?
J
Well, clocks are all that I hear ticking
Our poems being pleasure bent.
And I can’t here the meter ticking
Our poems to me, are heaven sent
S
OK Fine, you’re esoteric,
I have heard what you have said;
What I’d really like is to be PUBLISHED!
Please, sometime soon, before I'm dead.
J
One hour, one day, it will happen,
And I, my friend, will see you through
Just keep on writing from your heart
And keep your words sincere and true.
S
I like that thought “sincere and true”,
No screaming, and I don’t have to cuss,
I used to say, “I write for me”
Now I’d say, “I write for us.”
J
Yes together words will flow and flourish
Dreams of published works are near
From these rhymes I’m so encouraged
Our Poems are meant for all to hear
