Madrid, 7 Nov (EFE), (Camera: Raúl García).- Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti insisted Friday that the only player that deserves the Ballon d'Or is Cristiano Ronaldo and believes Leo Messi is not a direct rival for the award, adding that a German footballer should be in the running.
"Cristiano's results speak for themselves," Ancelotti responded when he was asked about the Ballon' d'Or and who could take the trophy from the Portuguese forward.
"There could be a German player close to Cristiano because they won the World Cup but I don't think there are any other players close to him," he stated in reference to Messi.
