Paraguay's senate to debate agricultural export tax

In Paraguay, diverse social and political organizations, including the Guasu Front Pact have submitted senate with a bill proposition aiming to tax soybean exports by 15%. The country's agricultural sector dedicates 80% of production to soybean cultivation, and is mainly in the hands of large agro-export firms, that pay little (2%) or no taxes at all to the federal government. Thursday, Paraguay's Senate will debate on the bill. teleSUR
