The 48th Country Music Awards took place in Nashville, Tennessee on November 6 and the winner of the female vocalist of the year was no surprise. Miranda Lambert won for her fifth consecutive year.

She also took home the Album of the Year for 'Platinum'. And there were more awards to take home as her husband Blake Shelton also won Male Vocalist of the Year for the fifth consecutive year.

The Song of the Year went to 'Follow Your Arrow' by Kacey Musgraves. It has a liberal message about lifestyle choices and made waves among the conservative country music listeners.
