Juliana Cunha presents Wattled for Spring/Summer 2015 at ModaLisboa’s Sangue Novo (New Blood) program. Wattled is inspired by the technical and dynamic works of artist Karen Ryan. Cunha takes the concept of Ryan’s juxtaposed pieces and translates them to garments, with various graphic “assemblies” of symmetrical volumes creating straight silhouettes. Colors are predominantly white, with color blocks of gray, acid green, red and turquoise.
During the portuguese fashion week in Lisbon we can attend to the official "défilés" but also discover or review young fashion designers. These young fashion talents/designers are promoted through the "sangue novo" platform that gives them the chance to unveil (for some of them and for the first time) their collections.
