In its wintering lay
lost in slumbering sleep
the lizard of the deep
Curled up in crystal cave
with mounded rocks above his bed
overlain with blanket green
to keep the light at bay
Thousands of years he'll while away
asleep!
As in his wintering lay
the dormant creature of the deep
lost in a lazy, hazy spell
of misty slumbering sleep.
