A cat in Pennsylvania is now on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery to have his tail amputated. The story of the feline named Mr. Biscuits is a dramatic one.

Last week on Tuesday, the suspected stray cat was found in a car engine. The driver had no idea the animal was under the hood and didn’t find Mr. Biscuits until he arrived at work.

As a result of the ride, the cat was left with severe burns over approximately a third of his body. The male car owner contacted Animal Control officials and together they spent two hours trying to get Mr. Biscuits away from the engine.

Eventually they were able to free him. Amanda Cox of Grannie Project Rescue was called for assistance and from there, the feline was transported to Metropolitan Veterinary Associates & Emergency Services.

A week into his recovery, the amputation had to be done, as the burns were preventing blood from flowing to the tail. According to a post on the facility’s Facebook page “He’s a very handsome, sweet cat who is fighting hard to recover. Mr. Biscuits is getting expert, round-the-clock care from our team of doctors and nurses and he seems to love being spoiled rotten.”

The cat will have to spend quite some time healing before he’s placed up for adoption but a foster is already lined up. A YouCaring page has been set up for the feline and has, thus far, received more than 13 thousand dollars in donations.
