Henrietta shampoos and conditioner washes every 3 to 3 days and her mom thinks that is too frequent.

#1 This frequency is fine if you are active but not necessary if you aren’t
If you are working out intensely and frequently, then washing or co washing your hair every 3 days is fine. Be sure to keep your hair wound in braid or twists when shampooing and conditioning because this decreases your need to detangle frequently which aids length retention. If you are detangling your hair 2 to 3 times a week, you are causing progressive wear and tear on the ends of your hair when this can be avoided easily by washing your hair in individual braids or twists.

#2 Instead moisturize your hair one or twice a week and see how that works for you
Moisturizing your hair once or twice a week is ideal if you suffer with dryness. Moisturizing more than that is unnecessary and that’s why using a preferred oil sealant is so important because it prevents you from moisturizing constantly throughout the week. If you need help finding moisturizes that will work best for your hair, refer to my book the Black Hair Manual as I take you step by step to shop for the hair care products that are best for your hair.
