Before I met you, life seemed to stand still
Moving one step forward and two steps back
My temper outrageous, my mind was ill
All forms of happines I seemed to lack.
My heart was so cold, it was covered in snow
Pumping rivers of bloodied ice.
The darkness inside me seemed only to grow
A picture that wasn't so nice.
But then on a day, late in the year
I met the most beautiful girl
One that made everything so crystal clear
One that gave my stomach a whirl.
This girl brought beauty and grace in my life
And joy that could run for a while.
With wit that was sharper than any chef's knife
And brought back my uncommon smile.
Before I knew it, I fell in love
With this girl of beauty and grace
I'd been shot with an arrow from Cupid above
My heart had left its dwelling-place.
Her endless sea of chocolate hair
Had me entirely lost.
Her eyes lit my way when no light was there,
The sadness away had been tossed.
Her smile shined brighter and brighter
Glowing more than the crescent moon
Her hugs were hotter than a flame from a lighter
Her voice carried a perfect tune.
I knew it, quite certain, I'd fallen real hard
My disturbances had all been lifted
My heart was now free from being barred
And the bounds were now ashes that sifted.
I've found her, I've found her, the love of my life
She's brightened my every day
She removed all the contention, all of the strife
My beloved Veronica Bray.
