I told you I’m no good
I tried the best I could
But I guess no one understood
You know I had good intentions
Some were my own inventions
I inserted in our daily conversations
You know I tried and tried
But after every truth I lied
You see I had my ego to misguide
I know I have a troubled mind
But it’s not my goal to be unkind
Too many knots in my heart to unwind
You know I died a thousand times
Would pay dollars for dimes
To take back all the lies about my crimes
So with great trepidation
Hoping it’s not a great miscalculation
I will pay my penance at your discretion
