Dakota Ellerton - Burning Reassurance

An ache in my chest
a sting carried through my veins
a candle flickering
the soothing sound of water running
I'm in my own world
nothing is nothing
emptiness is fullness
sadness is lonliness
illusions are everything
lies spin around me
while I lay wet and cold on the floor
voices in my head
begin screaming
I am nothing, I am nothing
a pointless exhistance
stop crying
I can't control myself
I reach out for my reassurance
and hold it in the candles flame
stop, don't do this
I snuff out the voice
I press the hot metal into my flesh
the stench of burning seeps into my lungs
again and again
I am real
I am here
I need to feel [something]
I deserve to hurt
