MQM Member of Provincial Assembly Muhammad Iftikhar Alam has handed over a member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Paksitan (TTP), a banned terrorist outfit, Saifullah Mahsood, captured by the local residents, to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Azizabad, Saleem Siddiqui in presence of media persons at a press conference outside Ifza Park, Azizabad.
Talking to the journalists, the MPA Iftikhar said that a day before Members of Coordination Committee expressed their grave concerns over the life-threats by TTP to MQM leaderships, including Mr. Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and party headquarter Nine-Zero. He said that all the concerned authorities, including Sindh government were informed immediately about the threats.
He said today’s episode of capturing a terrorists within Nine-Zero limits showed that the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and authorities did not pay any heed to MQM’s concerns and did not arrange appropriate security measures for MQM leaderships and its Secretariat. He informed the media persons about the captured terrorist that by various identification documents it was said to be the resident of Nooristan, Afghanistan and came Karachi from Peshawar a couple of days before.
The MPA detailed about various suspected things in a black suitcase, which recovered from the terrorist, including identity cards of various Pakistani and Afghan universities, pictures of former TTP Chief Hakeemullah Mahsood, mobile sets, Rs. 25000 cash, extra batteries of mobile sets, banned literatures of TTP, videos and pictures. He said that when the terrorist was asked about his identity and cause for wandering around Nine-Zero limits, he could not reply properly.
