Dozens of people are dead after a series of bomb attacks in Iraq, including in Baquba and the capital Baghdad.

Three separate car bombings killed at least 25 people at a government compound near Baquba city on Sunday.

This a day after a series of explosions killed 38 people in Shiite areas of Baghdad.

Islamic militants also killed a journalist working for a local TV station in a Sunni province.

The police chief in the Anbar province has also died in a bomb attack on his convoy.

The latest violence comes as the government struggles to deal with the advance of ISIL militants in the north of the country.
