In 1998, at the request of the FBI, Cuba handed over information about the activities of these groups. But instead of the terrorist beeing charged, five Cuban nationals where arrested in Miami. They were gathering information about terrorist plots against their country. These men where to become known as the Cuban Five.

On the 7th and 8th of March 2014, at the Law Society in London, an international Commission of Inquiry was called to review the case of the Cuban Five. During two days of testimonies, a panel of distinguished judges examined weather the Cuban five received a fair trial.
