Najma is a 1931 romantic drama film by Mehboob starring Ashok Kumar and Veena in lead roles.
Lucknow medical college student, Yusuf Khan (Ashok Kumar) falls in love with Najma (Veena), the daughter of his wealthy neighbour. Their romance is interrupted when Dr. Khan (Murad) announces that hisson is betrothed to his cousin Raziya ( Sitara). Although, Yusuf initially refuses to marry Raziya but Najma convinces him to marry Raziya to preserve his family's honor. Heartbroken, they both marry other people; Yusuf marries Raziya and Najma weds the wealthy Mukarram Nawab ( M Kumar). Will Najma and Yusuf lead a happy married life?
