Montpellier was hit by flooding on September 29 following heavy rain. The French weather agency put a red alert in place as the River Lez overflowed, leaving parts of the city inundated. Footage here shows cars partially submerged on the Quai des Tanneurs, close to the city center. The Verdanson river, a tributary of the Lez, is seen flowing fast in the adjacent channel.
